Essaouira: the windswept medina on the Atlantic

Essaouira — historically known as Mogador — is a fortified port town on Morocco's Atlantic coast, about three hours west of Marrakech by road. Its 18th-century medina, designed as a planned walled city, was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2001.

The town is known for its relaxed atmosphere, its blue fishing boats, its artisans and the strong trade winds that make the coast popular with windsurfers and kitesurfers. It is also our home base: our private transfers and excursions start from here.
